Our Teacher Training Model
Active in the southeastern states, Cultivating the Learning offers hands-on, active Teacher Training with immediate takeaways for classroom application. Included in our trainings are blended learning, hyperdocs, playground sessions, training videos, Socratic Seminars, electronic discussions, backchannels, paired teaching, and genius bars. Teachers are no different than the students in their classrooms; they need the 4 Cs, too.
To engage teachers in our Teacher Training sessions, we focus on active learning and the 4 Cs: collaboration, communication, and creative and critical thinking. In doing this, we are modeling for our teachers what their classrooms can look and feel like. Most of us teach the way we have been taught, so it is high time we start teaching teachers they way we want them to teach.
1-3 Hour Workshops
Because teacher time is so limited, one Educational Technology Training we offer is 1-3 hour workshops. These can take place during scheduled grade level or department meetings, before and after school, and at any other time that teachers are willing to sacrifice their time. Ed Tech Training Workshops can be individualized and differentiated based on teacher input. We work closely with teachers and admins to make sure our trainings are necessary and worthwhile.

3 - 5 week Courses
Because some topics require long-term, in-depth studies, we offer flexible PD over multiple weeks during the school year and for full weeks during the summer. We work with your local colleges and universities to get graduate credits approved. Your Educational Technology Training courses can be individualized, or they might be existing courses that we have already successfully taught. Either way, your teachers will be earning recertification hours while improving their integration of technology in the classroom. Follow-up communication is also included, so teachers will not be abandoned after the training. For best results, we prefer to incorporate Technology Collaborative Coaching to ensure that contact is ongoing and regular.
When it comes to technology, you learn by doing. I feel much more confident in using Google apps and programs with my students since I have had more experience in using them.
Thank you for the personal feedback on Classroom. I loved having the opportunity to do many projects at my own pace, independently, and with partners.
